Gymnastics At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Rhythmic Individual All-around
The Women's rhythmic individual all-around competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held at the Jeunesse Arena, Arena Olímpica do Rio. The medals were presented by Alexander Zhukov, International Olympic Committee, IOC List of members of the International Olympic Committee, member, Russia, and Nataliya Kuzmina, President of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee of the International Federation of Gymnastics, FIG, Russia. Competition format The competition consisted of a qualification round and a final round. The top ten gymnasts in the qualification round advanced to the final round. In each round, the gymnasts performed four routines (ball, hoop, clubs, and ribbon), with the scores added to give a total. Jeunesse Arena
Farmasi Arena is an indoor arena, indoor multipurpose arena, located in the region of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the indoor arena with largest capacity in the country, with 15,430 people for sports and up to 18,768 for concerts. The arena is named for the Turkish cosmetics company Farmasi through a naming rights deal closed in 2024. Katsiaryna Aliaksandraŭna Halkina (; ; born 25 February 1997) is a retired Belarusian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2018 European all-around bronze medalist. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and finished 6th in the all-around final. Personal life Halkina had heart surgery in 2011 and missed 12 months of competition. She announced her retirement from rhythmic gymnastics in June 2021. Ana Luiza Filiorianu (born July 10, 1999) is a Romanian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the six-time (2011–14 and 2016–17) Romanian National all-around champion. Personal life Filiorianu started competitive gymnastics in 2006 at 7 years old. Her sports hero is Romanian artistic gymnast Nadia Comăneci, the first female gymnast to score perfect 10's in the Olympic Games. She attended the National University of Physical Education and Sport; she studied both law and for a Master's in physical education and sport. Ekaterina "Katja" Volkova (born 2 July 1997) is a Finnish former individual rhythmic gymnast. A daughter of Russian parents, she is also Russian citizen. Nicol Ruprecht (born 2 October 1992) is an Austrian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is Austria's most successful rhythmic gymnast. Personal life Ruprecht was born in Innsbruck. Neta Rivkin (; born June 19, 1991) is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is one of Israel's most successful rhythmic gymnasts. A three-time Olympian, in 2011 she won the silver medal in clubs at the 2011 European Championships.
